Sun – Clear – cold. Up at Croydon all day.  Staying here tonight and going home tomorrow morning because our machine was too crowded.  Eddie Cantor was on the radio tonight for the last time.  Gee, he’s wonderful.  Ann’s baby was born today.

Daughter’s note: – I believe “our machine” refers to a car.  Clara always said that her father had one of the first cars in their neighborhood.  Clara’s mother, my grandmother, still referred to the car as “the machine” in the ’60’s.
